17-Year-Old Nigerian Girl Tells Story Of s*xual Slavery

The teenager revealed that she was taken abroad by a relative who lured her with the job of a stylist, but forced Joy into prostitution when they got to Italy.

Many times, we read stories of young Nigerian women taken into s*xual slavery abroad, and each time, their stories leave us shivering. And 17-year-old Joy, a Nigerian girl rescued by an organisation in Italy has shared a similar shocking tale.

In her feature on AJ Plus, the teenager revealed that she was taken abroad by a relative who lured her with the job of a stylist, but forced Joy into prostitution when they got to Italy.

“I know we are [back in Nigeria] but not to the extent of standing on the road, half-unclad,” said the teenage who still feels shame.Luckily she was rescued and lives to tell her story

While the whereabouts of the relative who forced Joy into s*xual slavery is not known, Ghanaian officials have successfully nabbed a priestess who, apart from running her fake fetish business without license, also recruits and forces young girls into prostitution.

Modern Ghana reports that Nana Ama Serwaa alias ‘Asuoabena,’ who is quite famous around the Barekese area near Kumasi, is currently being investigated following allegations that she recruits young girls to engage in prostitution.

Armed with this information, The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah, and his team searched Nana’s 17-bedroom house and found “quantities of used and unused condoms and fake traditional medicine bearing Nana Ama Serwaa’s name.”

It is unclear how many girls were rescued from Nana’s home.
