Dwayne Johnson doesn't care about bad Baywatch reviews

The new big screen Baywatch movie hasn't had the best critical reception, with everyone from Mark Kermode to, ermmm, us giving it a bad review.
Star Dwayne Johnson seems to be taking it in his stride, though, joking about how the critics hate the film but the audiences are loving it.
The film originally sat at 13% on Rotten Tomatoes' (in)famous tomatometer before a fan notified Johnson that an influx of positive reviews had bumped it up to an 18%.

"Yay positive upticks," he tweeted. "Fans LOVE the movie. Critics HATE it. What a glaring disconnect. People just want to laugh & have fun."
Anyone want to tell him that that score has gone up yet again? It's currently standing at a grand total of 19% at the time of writing...
Johnson later tweeted that "critics had their venom & knives ready" which led to accusations of him 'attacking' critics, which he said wasn't his style.
He followed it up with a video showing various fans talking about how much they loved the film, adding: "Fans across the country havin' a BLAST & LOVING #Batwatch. Veryyy happy audience = best part of my job."
Well, we don't about 'Batwatch', but there's no denying the fans are certainly loving Baywatch in the clip:
It's good to see Dwayne focus on making the fans happy, because at the end of day, not every film you make is going to be critically and/or commercially successful, and Dwayne Johnson is signed up for a LOT of films.
Off the top of our heads there's Shazam, Jumanji, Journey 3, Rampage, Doc Savage, Jungle Cruise, Big Trouble in Little China, The Janson Detective, Skyscraper, Alpha Squad Seven and now, Baywatch 2.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 reigns at the box office

Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge (that's Dead Men Tell No Tales for the US audiences) has topped the US box office in its opening weekend in cinemas.
The latest in the franchise follows series newbie Brenton Thwaites as Henry as he teams up with Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), who's searching for the legendary Trident of Poseidon, while Henry struggles to break a curse that is preventing him from reconnecting with his parents.
Pirates of the Caribbean earned itself plenty of fans this weekend, ending its opening week right at the top of the box office with a respectable $62,179,000.

Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson's Baywatch, on the other hand, was another new entry that failed to perform as well, debuting in the number three spot. The film pulled in $18.1 million in its opening weekend, reflecting the less-than-favourable critic reviews.
Not that it's bothering star Johnson though, as the actor has spent the weekend on Twitter celebrating the film's popularity with audiences.
"Fans LOVE the movie. Critics HATE it." he wrote. "What a glaring disconnect."
What's a little less encouraging is the fact that Baywatch's opening weekend has made less than the unstoppable Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, which has brought in another $19,890,000 in its fourth week of release, having crossed the half billion dollar mark globally in the first two weeks alone.

Elsewhere in the box office top 10, Alien: Convenant fell from the top spot to number four this weekend after bringing in another $10,525,000.
That's not massively surprising, though, considering its Friday totals indicated an 80% nosedive in turnouts in its second week of release compared to its opening day. Ouch.

Meanwhile YA drama Everything, Everything came in at number five with $6,185,000, while children ruled the chart yet again by keeping Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul in the number six spot, earning $4.4 million.
Rounding out the top 10 was Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn's comedy Snatched at seven, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword at eight and Alec Baldwin's surprise hit The Boss Baby justifying its recent sequel announcement by earning another $1.7 million this weekend to hold onto ninth place.
Finally, Disney's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast is still sitting pretty in the charts, hanging on in tenth place after 11 weeks of release.

Reality star finally a woman after a successful penis-to-vagina surgery
It was gathered that the 67-year-old celebrity transgender would tell the world about the final surgery in her upcoming memoir.
After two years of embarking on the journey to transitioning from male to female, Caitlyn Jenner is finally a woman following a successful sex reassignment surgery, RadarOnline reports.
Jenner's penis has been replaced with a vaginal and she says she feels "liberated."
It was gathered that the 67-year-old celebrity transgender would tell the world about the final surgery in her upcoming memoir, "The Secre"The surgery was a success, and I feel not only wonderful but liberated," Jenner reportedly wrote in the memoir,which is due for release on April 25.

Jenner, a former Olympic champion, reportedly had the surgery in January this year.

In the memoir, Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, reportedly said for her, a penis "has no special gifts or use for me other than what I have said before, the ability to take a whiz in the woods. I just want to have all the right parts. I am also tired of tucking the damn thing in all the time."

She said she decided to go public about her latest surgery "so all of you can stop staring. You want to know, so now you know. Which is why this is the first time, and the last time, I will ever speak of it."ts of My Life".
Jenner had previously undergone facial feminization surgery and gotten breast implants.

Court Adjourns Case Between Omoni Oboli and Jude Idada
Omoni earlier got a go ahead from the court to release 'Okafor's Law' in cinemas.
The ongoing copyright ‘theft’ case between Omoni Oboli and Jude Idada has been further adjourned to a new date.
On Tuesday, April 4, Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court Ikoyi, adjourned the next hearing for the case between Raconteur Productions and Omoni Oboli’s Dioni Visions to May 17, 2017.
On April 3 and April 4, Chioma Onyewe and Jude Idada made an appearance on the witness stand for the plaintiff.
All this comes after the Court on Thursday, March 30, 2017, granted Omoni Oboli go ahead to release Okafor’s Law in cinemas on Friday, March 31.
During the first and second hearing of the case, Oboli was represented by the production manager of Dioni Visions, Tomi Adeoye.
Oboli, who was absent during the first and second hearing of the case, made her first appearance in court on Monday, April 3.
She was accompanied by Nollywood veteran, Zeb Ejiro, who came along to offer his support.
