7 Surprising Things You Could Do With Eggs

You’re probably wondering what else you can do with eggs apart from eating and maybe using for one or two beauty treatments. Jumia Travel shares 7 surprising things you probably didn’t know you could do with eggs.

Treat a Cut
The thin membrane from a hard-boiled egg can be applied on cuts to promote healing. The membrane has wound-healing nutrients and can be used as a bandage for cuts. You have to be gentle when applying the membrane on the wound though, so it doesn’t cut from over stretching.

To Deter Pests
You can use eggs as some form of pesticide to deter pests. Simply scatter crushed eggshells on top of flowerbeds to discourage and deter snails, slugs and cutworms from coming to the area.

To Help Seeds Germinate
This is mainly done with flower seeds. Eggshells can be used at the initial stage of seed germination. They can be used to start your seeds for the season. Use a needle to poke a small drainage hole in the bottom half of an empty egg shell, fill in the shell with soil and press in the seeds. Take care of the seeds appropriately and watch them grow.

To Substitute Glue
The proteins in egg white tend to set quite firmly when dry because of their strong bonding properties. Raw eggs whites are actually powerful bonding agents that can be used on paper as a substitute for glue when glue isn’t available.

To Fertilize Plants
Eggs shells contain a high amount of calcium which is a beneficial mineral for cherry tomatoes, garden eggs and other plants in the nightshade family. For this reason, they are great for use in helping to fertilize these plants to promote growth and germination.

To Boost Calcium Intake
Like was stated above, eggshells have a high amount of calcium, and aside from using them to fertilize plants, they can also be used to help boost calcium intake in humans. Simply bake an empty egg shell at 350 degree Fahrenheit for eight minutes, let cool, then grind to fine powder and add a teaspoon of it to your juice.

To Scour Metal
Ground eggshells are powerful abrasives that can be used to clean dirty pots, pans and even pipes to make them shine and look new again. You can add some soapy water to dampen the ground eggshells a bit before using them to scour the metal.

10 Things Your Lady Loves To Hear During s*x
Guys, you don’t have to be a poet or a P0*n star to say the right things to a woman in bed. In fact, anything too cheesy or raunchy can be a major turnoff. What we really want is something in between. And as far as the subject matter goes, you shouldn’t have to try too hard. If you give just a little bit of direction and a lot of compliments, everyone is going to have a better s*xual experience.
1. “I love your body.” Women are at our most exposed and vulnerable during s*x (and sometimes we’re even in unflattering positions). The confidence boost we get from this compliment will help us relax and enjoy our own bodies—and yours—even more.
2. “You’re so tight.” Guys, this is the female equivalent of “You’re so big.” Even if it’s not necessarily true, it’s still nice to hear. Especially in the heat of the moment.
3. “Bite my neck.” Do you want a little an*l finger play? bosom biting? Then speak up! A recent survey showed that many women even like it when you make them call you, “daddy.”
4. “You taste good.” Women want to look good and smell good all over, so it should come as no surprise that we’re also concerned about how we taste down there. Help us relax into the moment and enjoy what you’re doing even more by letting us know you’re savoring the flavor.
5. “How do you want it?” Sometimes we want it fast, other times slow. Sometimes rough and other times gentle. If we’re not speaking up, just ask. In addition to helping us become more sexually satisfied, when we feel heard, we’ll feel even more connected to you.
6. “You’re really good at that.” Studies have shown that compliments help improve performance. So if you really like what we’re doing and you want us to keep doing it, then give us an enthusiastic five-star rating.
7. “You feel amazing.” Yes, we know that, generally, s*x feels good. Still, it’s nice to hear such a personal compliment. We want to know, or at least believe, that we feel better than anyone else you’ve ever been with.
8. “I’m gonna come.” Whether it’s a polite warning during a blowjob (which is always appreciated) or a compliment on our sweet moves, this is usually a welcome announcement.
9. “I want to make you come.” Look, even though we know this generally isn’t your number-one goal in the sack, it probably should be. Let us know—preferably enthusiastically—that it’s at least on your lovemaking to-do list.

10. “I love you.” OK, we all know you shouldn’t say these three words if you don’t really mean them. But if you do, let it out. Studies have said that people who say or hear “I love you” during s*x are far more sexually satisfied than those who don’t.

6 Clues Your Body Gives You Before A Heart Attack
Seek medical attention ASAP if you experience any of these symptoms.
Dizziness
Though most heart attacks don’t make you suddenly lose consciousness, they can reduce or cut off blood flow that brings oxygen to the heart and brain, which may cause you to feel light-headed.
Upper body pain
Our heart doesn’t have many nerve endings, so it sometimes shares a pathway with nerves to other body parts, causing pain to radiate to the back, shoulders, arms, neck or jaw. Some women say it feels as if an elephant is sitting on their back.
Fatigue
Feeling worn-out after a sleepless night or stressful day is normal. But more than half of women feel extremely tired or weak more than a month before having a heart attack, even though they haven’t exerted themselves.
Sweating
Unless you’re going through menopause or have just exercised, breaking out into a cold sweat or perspiring excessively could signal a heart attack, which activates the nervous system.
Nausea
A heart attack may cause nausea, which is twice as likely to occur in women than in men (many also feel like they’re getting the flu days before a heart attack). If you have sudden and constant nausea that doesn’t seem food related, take action.
Shortness of breath
If workouts inexplicably seem harder, see your doctor. If you suddenly feel like you just ran up stairs and can’t catch your breath when you’re not doing much, or the feeling rouses you from sleep, go to the ER.

How To Keep Your Husband Happy
Men are not that complicated to understand. They work hard to provide, want to call a warm place home and have a loving family. You mister puts in an incredible amount of time and effort to make every member of the family happy, while still finding time to show his pretty wife (that’s you!) a little extra attention.
As his wife, go the extra mile to remind your man how grateful you are for his hard work. Here is a list of some things that are bound to put a smile on your husband’s face:
1. cook him delicious meals
My mother always said the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. As I have grown older I believe she was telling the truth. Cook a yummy home cooked meal and just sit back and watch him grin.
2. Surprise with gifts sometimes
You don’t need to go out and buy him the newest car on the market but a small gift (or act of service) is a simple way of showing him he is on your mind. Even replacing his worn bike helmet or taking his car for an oil change will mean a lot to him.
3. offer him help whenever necessary
Offering to pay for the meal on your date night or doing his laundry that week is a easy way to express how much you care.
4. Joke around with him
When you’re chatting after a long day, toss in a smart little remark and wink. He will go crazy over it!
5. Be neat and tidy
Dishes, vacuuming, mopping, dusting…all of these little chores work together to make a clean home. No husband wants to return home to find that he can hardly walk through his house without tripping over a toy. Coming home to a properly made bed and a clean kitchen will make him happy.
6. Call him by a nickname
That one nickname you specifically designed for him is one of the sweetest sounds he can hear. Let him call you by your little nickname in return…You may sort of hate it but it makes him happy.
7. Giving a good morning and goodnight kiss
This serves as a tender way of reminding your husband that he is the first thing you think about when you wake up and the last person on your mind before you go to sleep in his arms.
8.Feeling the hands of the one you love rub your tense shoulders is enough to make any husband happy…and relaxed. Spoil your husband little after a long day.

Alert! Drinking Diet Soda Causes This Serious Damage to Your Health...
A shocking new research has revealed that soda drink could be the cause of most deadly ailments many people are suffering without knowing.
See Details
If you regularly take a can of cola soft drinks at lunch, or enjoy it with your favorite rum, you might want to put that drink down.
According to a new study, just one diet drink a day can triple the risk of a deadly stroke, with researchers also finding the beverages have a “worrying association” with dementia.
The team of researchers from Boston’s University School of Medicine said people who consume a can of artificially-sweetened soft drink a day were at three times the risk of suffering the most common form of stroke, compared to non-drinkers.
The US study also indicated that diet soft drink fans were 2.9 times more likely to develop Alzheimer’s.
But after accounting for all lifestyle factors, the researchers found the link to dementia was statistically insignificant, though the impact on stroke risk remained.
The study, which looked at 10 years’ worth of data from more than 4,300 people, indicates that people need to look beyond the word ‘diet’ when making drink choices.
“Drinking at least one artificially sweetened beverage daily was associated with almost three times the risk of developing stroke or dementia, compared to those who drank artificially sweetened beverages less than once a week,” the research read.
It was published in the journal of the American Heart Association, Stroke.
“After adjustments for age, sex, education (for analysis of dementia), calorific intake, diet quality, physical activity and smoking, higher recent and higher cumulative intake of artificially sweetened soft drinks were associated with an increased risk of ischaemic stroke, all-cause dementia and Alzheimer’s disease dementia.”
“To our knowledge, our study is the first to report an association between daily intake of artificially sweetened soft drink and increased risk of both all-cause dementia and dementia because of Alzheimer’s disease,” the co-authors added.
Diet drinks contain next-to-no calories, because they use artificial sweeteners that are hundreds, sometimes thousands of times sweeter than sugar.
There is public concern about some sweeteners, with scientists across the world arguing that low-calorie substitutes may lead to weight gain and increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
“A lot of people assume they must be healthy choices because they are not sugared beverages, but the critical thing for people to understand is we don’t have the evidence,” Prof. Susan Swithers, from the US’s Purdue University told the BBC.
Typically, the different types of sweeteners used in diet drinks range from Aspartame, Saccharine and Stevia.
Aspartame is the sweetener most used in diet drinks, and is also the most controversial.
At 200 times sweeter than sugar, it is used right across the world as a sugar substitute, including cereal, chewing gum and lollies.
“Diet drinks, despite having zero sugar and hardly any calories, actually taste far sweeter than regular soft-drinks,” nutritionist Kristen Beck told news.com.au.
“The problem is that the human brain aren’t set up to be able to deal with the intensely-sweet, zero-calorie version of sweetness that artificial sweeteners provide.”
Humans are set up to crave and seek out sweet foods, and when they eat something sweet, the brain responds to sweetness with signals to eat more.
“Artificial sweeteners provide an intensely sweet taste without any calories which can actually cause you to crave more sweet foods and drinks,” Ms Beck said.
“In turn, the sweetness drive you to eat more kilojoules from sweet foods and drinks than you normally would.
“While sugar signals a positive feeling of reward, artificial sweeteners may not be an
effective way to manage a craving for sweets.
“Artificial sweeteners trigger insulin, which sends your body into fat storage mode and leads to weight gain,” Brooke Alpert, author of The Sugar Detox said.
According to Prof. Swithers, ingesting sweeteners also obstructs the way the body deals with real sugar when it’s consumed again.
“We think the diet sodas may be bad because they make it hard to deal with the sugar you are consuming,” she said.
“When the animals get real sugar they’re not as good at processing it, their hormonal responses get blunted, their blood sugar levels go up and it leads to weight gain.”

Stubborn dandruff? Flaky Hair? Natures Gentle Touch is best
If looking to get rid of dandruff, itching and flaky scalp, Natures Gentle Touch Tea Tree Anti-Dandruff range is your best option.
If looking to get rid of dandruff, itching and flaky scalp, Natures Gentle Touch Tea Tree Anti-Dandruff range is your best option.
I've had an itchy scalp for as long as I can remember! I used to get dandruff a lot and over the years as I got to know more about haircare and wellness i realized it was more of dry scalp (we'd discuss the differences in the nearest future) prompting me to make sure to use specific products and treatment that help (as well as lifestyle habits like upping my water intake) and it seemed under control. I had to cut my hair at a point when itching became unbearable (turning it into a nice cut that was easier to tame all I needed was the hair to be short as possible)
I had to cut my hair at a point to get rid of itchy and dry flaky scalp (Chinedu)
So when I got sent Natures Gentle Touch bundle for Dandruff (a little reluctant if you've had stubborn itchy scalp you'd probably feel the same way) I was going to just try it out for the sake of just that -and honestly It took me a while before trying (not till one night the itching became unbearable that I decided to try out to 'see what this one could offer'!).
Natures Gentle Touchplay
(L-R) Natures Gentle Touch Tea Tree Anti- Dandruff Shampoo, Instant Conditioner, Leave-in treatment and Scalp protector
The bundle came in Shampoo, instant conditioner, leave-in treatment, scalp protector i.e Natures Gentle Touch Tea Tree Anti- Dandruff Shampoo, Natures Gentle Touch Tea Tree Anti- Dandruff Instant Conditioner, Natures Gentle Touch Tea Tree Anti- Dandruff Leave-In Treatment and Natures Gentle Touch Tea Tree Anti- Dandruff Scalp Protector.
They (the range I got) are all targeted at dandruff as each product came listed as "Anti- Dandruff" with the promise "Helps eliminate itching and flaking associated with dandruff" on each product pack. Presented in a bottle with a pump, all bottles are leak-free and 'tidy' with each product carrying a step by step guide on how to use it.
Natures Gentle Touchplay
(L-R) Natures Gentle Touch Tea Tree Anti- Dandruff Shampoo, Instant Conditioner, Leave-in treatment and Scalp protector (Olamide)

For my first use, I tried all four products that night first the shampoo which made me feel like woah instantly as it's not your regular rose gold thick soapy wash, it came in blue; sky blue and unexpectedly after the first use, I didn't itch for another one week at least this was a first and it got me a tad excited!
The shampoo surprisingly lathers well enough for a blue one -though you need a lot more than regular shampoo- and instantly delivers a tinge of minty, soothing refreshing feeling- it almost came a little too minty for me but then I reckon it's because I had itched my scalp so much before i decided to try out the products that night.
I followed up with the leave in conditioner left in the damp hair for a few minutes before rinsing out and then I followed up with the leave-in treatment and the scalp protector! This 'combo'  worked for me, the itching has stopped for a while, the nasty flakes on the scalp are gone and hair feels shinier and looks healthy after using for weeks now! I have held back on a haircut and leaving hair to grow at the moment as itch and flakiness are gone.
Pros
-Tea Tree for the dandruff range which is great as antibacterial and antiseptic, a wonder beauty product!
-The mint freshness that comes cooling and soothing
-Definitely tackles dry scalp, dandruff and itchy scalp
Cons
-The mint may come too much for people with very soft scalp (so test patch first otherwise it's perfect)
Otherwise Natures Gentle Touch's dandruff range is one to own to tackle dry scalp and dandruff issues.

Ghanaian fashion director is new Editor-In-Chief for British Vogue
Edward Enninful was named as the first black and male editor of British Vogue on Monday.
The 45-year-old’s appointment has been seen as a rather radical one for the historic magazine. In previous work, Enninful has taken a diverse approach to the fashion and beauty worlds (and everything in between).
Known for his many accomplishments and forward-thinking vision, the Brit, who migrated to the United Kingdom from Ghana as a kid, spearheaded Vogue Italia‘s “Black Issue” in 2008, which featured only black models. Enninful hoped it would end the “white-out that dominates the catwalk and magazines,” according to the New York Times. The issue was so successful that an extra 40,000 copies had to be printed.
In addition to Vogue Italia, Enninful has held positions at American Vogue, i-D, and W throughout his two-decade career. Last year, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to diversity in the fashion industry. His predecessor at British Vogue, Alexandra Shulman, received the same accolade in 2004.
Just like Shulman, Enninful is extremely outspoken when it comes to the fashion industry’s many shortcomings. But where Shulman fought for body diversity, Enninful pushes for racial equality.

Enninful is renowned for speaking up for black models. (Photo: i-D)
From his prominent positions and through his powerful friends — which include Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, and a slew of other models, celebrities, and “it” girls — he’s provided platforms for models of color.
“It’s very easy to say, oh, there’s one black model in a show and one black or Asian model in an advertising photograph, so we’ve filled the quota,” he told the Telegraph in 2016. “No, it should be a continuous conversation. It shouldn’t even be an issue as far as I’m concerned. Beauty’s beauty.”
Enninful is expected to majorly shake things up. When he takes up his new position on August 1, he’ll be one of the only black figures at the top of the fashion industry. Most major designers and their chief executives are white, as are the majority of fashion magazine staffs.
In 2015, Jourdan Dunn became the first solo black model to feature on British Vogue's cover in 12 years
In 2015, Jourdan Dunn became the first solo black model to feature on British Vogue‘s cover in.

It’s a particularly smart hire for British Vogue, which has been heavily criticized for taking 12 years to feature another black model on the cover of the publication after Naomi Campbell’s solo 2004 appearance.
Diversity on magazine covers is improving — but only slightly. Fashionista reported a 15.5 percent increase in the number of models of color starring on covers from 2015 to 2016. In 2016, British Vogue‘s only nonwhite cover star was Rihanna.
“He’s fearless,” Anna Wintour, Vogue‘s editor in chief, told the New York Times. “At a time when values are being challenged, Edward always stands up for what he believes in.”
Every College Accepted Her: 'Black-ish' Star Yara Shahidi Is Hollywood‘s Most Stylish History Nerd

Yara Shahidi photographed by Christine Hahn and styled by Christopher Kim for Yahoo Style; hair by Noel for Ken Barboza Agency using Framesi curl define; makeup by Emily Cheng for Nars.
Fame and success, it goes without saying, have many sweet perks.
For Yara Shahidi, the breakout star of the ABC hit Black-ish, it meant getting to know former first lady Michelle Obama. And having her write those burdensome but necessary college recommendation letters, which got her accepted into all seven schools she applied to: two Ivy Leagues, four state institutions, and one historically black college.
Having Obama pen those references, Shahidi tells Yahoo Style, felt “surreal. I’ve been able to work beside her on her education initiative and her support is surreal.”
She’s been to the White House multiple times, including for the Persian New Year celebration last April — Shahidi’s mom is the effervescent African-American commercial actress Keri Shahidi, and her dad is the Iranian-American cinematographer Afshin Shahidi. But seriously, how do they stay in touch? Can Shahidi just text or email or direct-message Michelle Obama? “Ha, ha. I’m not revealing our form of communication. It’s by carrier pigeon,” she quips.
Shahidi has, at the moment of her interview and photo shoot, already been on the go for more than 12 hours, after catching a red-eye from Los Angeles, where she’s based, to New York, to promote her show and attend a few events. To wit: not a single whine, eye roll, or demand for caffeine from the 17-year-old actress. She sits patiently as her makeup is applied; a vision of grace under pressure.

The actress loves her tresses “curly and huge. I tend to have a natural mop top when I do my hair and I fully embrace it. I’ve done a year of no heat. It’s just helped so much. After all that effort, you have no choice but to take care of your hair,” she says.
Her style is equally on point. Her first major splurge after landing the Black-ish role was a pair of Stella McCartney high-top sneakers. Yes, that’s her, in a black-and-white checked tulle number from Virgil Abloh’s super-hot Off-White line, and then switching into a look from Bibhu Mohapatra’s spring 2017 collection at the People’s Choice awards. One of her other favorite looks: the stunning multi-colored striped gown from Naeem Khan she wore to the SAG Awards.
“I don’t always know what works. My style is ever changing. I’m always willing to try new things. We find some really awesome moments. It goes from being utilitarian to a ton of fun colors and patterns. I embrace the wave,” she says.
She feels in her element when the look involves “a tux, huge curls and a good, nice, fresh face. Today, I’m kind of obsessed with my eyebrows.”

Her summer plans include graduating from high school and maybe taking a family vacation and then, figuring out college plans. She won’t say where she got accepted, or which one she’s leaning towards; she plans to defer for a year, like Malia Obama.
“Maybe once I commit to a school [I’ll announce it]. I don’t know yet actually. It’s still so new. I’m still personally adjusting. I just got the physical letters in the mail yesterday. I got some nice stickers,” she says.
Yara Shahidi Has a Problem with Crop Tops
Actress Yara Shahidi’s “Black-ish” character, Zoey, has a passion for fashion, even scoring a fellowship at Teen Vogue on screen. In person, Shahidi is every bit as chic as her TV alter ego. From curls to clothing, Shahidi spills all her best beauty and style secrets. Her go-to place to score affordable denim? Watch to find out.
Experts Give Us Tips On "How To Make A Wig"

Lots of women wear processed hair and this ranges from relaxed , straightened and hair extensions this tells us that most of us wear our hair in an unnatural state most of the time. The few naturalistas (women that have unprocessed hair of African descent) that are wearing it natural tell you that starting out is "scary".
Experts will tell you lots of things but we're to tell you, wigs help. Lots people can't afford the 'good wigs' but YouTube has leveled the playing ground, all you need is a few basics and you are done!
Here's an abbreviated six-rule cheat sheet anyone can use to achieve the style, length, and wig of her dreams.
Pick the Right Hair
Your texture choice is totally up for discussion, but the type of hair you opt for can make or break your wig. "I always go for the highest quality hair with any brand, whether is it European, Indian, or Chinese virgin hair—but there is a difference between each type of hair," explains celebrity hairstylist, Kiyah Wright.

Build Your Foundation Carefully
"Personally, I prefer lace [closures] because they're more flexible and it's easy to work with when blending your own scalp," adds Peakmill. "Silk looks more authentic, but it could also be difficult when trying to blend."
The caveat is making sure the foundation of the wig isn't too bulky, the telling sign your hair is F-A-K-E. You want to ensure your custom piece lands on your hair seamlessly like it's sprouting out of your head. "Cornrows are best [under wigs], they lay your hair flat underneath," Peakmill tells me. "If you can't get cornrows, try to smooth your hair down into a low ponytail." Remember, the goal is to have your hair laid so your wig sits perfectly on top of your head.

Find Your Fit
If your piece is too big, it will move unnecessarily—yet if it's too small, anticipate one too many headaches. Avoid the drama and measure your head with a flexible measurement. "First, flatten your hair back to get an accurate measurement," explains Hadiiya Barbel.
"Starting in front at your natural hairline, follow along your hairline just above your ear. Next, continue around to the back at the bend in your neck and over your other ear, and around to the front where you started. Measure from the front of your natural hairline back over the crown to the bend where your head meets the top of your neck. Then, start in front of one ear, bringing your tape measure over the crown to the front of your other ear [to determine your cap size]."

Meet Your Match (or Not!)
The actual texture of the hair you select is 100% on you. "This is a tricky question [to answer] because some people want convenience and some people want hair that matches their natural hair," explains Wright who shares more of her coveted techniques in this video.
"If you want something easier to maintain then you should go for a body wave or natural wave. If you want a more textured look, which will require more work, I would go for a kinky texture or deep wave. It just really depends how much work you want to put in."

Shedding Happens
Most people have different techniques, one thing that unified them was the fact that shedding is inevitable. The baseline? The more you wear a wig, the more it will shed. The less you wear it, the less it will shed.
"You can't really stop a wig from shedding because it isn't really attached to a scalp, it's attached to a weft," explains Peakmill. The one factor in reducing shedding is sealing the weft of your wig. Her other advice? "Try not to comb your hair so hard when detangling or when it's too wet."

Get Home, Wig Off
If you want your wig to last you'll have to shelf it during bedtime by placing your wig on a head form when you aren't wearing it.
P.S: You may want to have a beautiful scarf nearby if you have a boyfriend/husband.

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama has struck out the 18-count corruption charge the Federal Government preferred against Justice Adeniyi Ademola, his wife, Olabowale and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Joe Agi.
The court held that FG failed to prove any of the allegations it levelled against the embattled Judge who hitherto served at the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court.
Consequently, trial Justice Jude Okeke, in a ruling that lasted over five hours, terminated further hearing on the criminal case, even as he discharged and acquitted all the defendants.
Justice Okeke held that FG failed to establish that Ademola received gratifications from Agi to the tune of N38.5m, including a BMW Saloon 320i car gift.
